I watched 13 Episodes in 3 days...and I still managed to leave my house - Part 1

So I did the thing where I watched Netflix on and off  from Friday evening to Sunday. Yet I still managed to do a 5k, watch LSU (I really shouldn't have, it was AWFUL!), clean my house, watch Doctor Who (I really shouldn't have, I cried my eyes out...see here), and pick up the hubs from the Airport.  Along with regular things like feeding the animals...and myself.

I watched all of Jessica Jones.  Don't get mad at me if I don't know what was happening.  I didn't read the comics and only knew a little about the story.  To say I was impressed is an understatement.  I was hooked from Episode 1.  The cast is phenomenal.  I don't know how you could watch it and not like it.  Wait I do know...if you are one of those people who is mad at Mr. Tennant for taking on this CRAZY roll, you may not like it...and you are stupid (sorry, not sorry).  Or if you are easily triggered.  There is quite a bit of violence, many mentions/allusions to rape, stalkers, excessive drinking, drugs, oh and uh...crazy wild superhero (and non superhero) sex.

If you haven't watched it yet DO NOT READ ON.  This (and the next post) will SPOIL the entire 13 Episodes for you.  DO NOT DO IT and if you do that's on you.  SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the get go you can't help but like Jessica.  And that's funny because she is 100% unlikable.  At least that is what she wants people to think.  She has regrets and guilt but we don't really know why.  We don't really understand why she is doing what she does...why she is having these weirdo flash backs...why she drinks herself into oblivion.  She keeps everyone at a distance and is an @$$hole to anyone who tries to care.  She is tom-boyish but shes pretty.  She is also insanely strong for her small frame, heals fairly quickly and can jump (fly)A+ acting my dear.  You see the hard@$$ meant for everyone along with the caring person hiding just below the surface.  She lost her entire family in an accident but still manages to live.  She isn't a "piece of $hit" just makes emotional decisions and is scared of hurting people she cares about.  When the realization hits you of what Kilgrave did to her you want to give her a hug but can't...because you know "fictional".

Kilgrave is a f**king psychopath.  Oh my GOD!  I have never in my life been more creeped out by a fictional character.  He is the one that created most of my "Ahhhh omg!" moments.  He controls minds.  This goes beyond the power of suggestion.  He can get anyone to do what he wants.  ANYTHING he wants.  This includes injuring yourself, injuring someone else, having sexual relations...with him (whaaaaaaaa?!?).  I just, the list is extensive and disturbing.  He is obsessed with Jessica.  I guess its the whole want what you can't have thing but taken to a level of crazy I never thought possible.  The problem is he is attractive but at the same time sinister.  You can see it...there is a look.  Like you look at him and think something just ain't right there.  He uses people until he has no use of them...then he basically tells them to off themselves OR kill others so they have to live with it.  I get that he had a messed up childhood and was never really taught how to not be a f**knut.  So you almost (I said almost don't crucify me) feel bad for him.  But how can you teach a child to behave when they can CONTROL you?!?!?  He is naturally manipulative (not to mention delusional).  So even when he can't control you with his power, he's good at talking...at making you feel sorry for him.  Hell I felt sorry for him and I KNEW what was happening.  A+ acting my friend...I feel like I need a shower, thanks.

Luke is a good hearted genuine guy.  We don't get why Jess is doing her PI thing with him at first  because he clearly isn't a case.  He is a lover but is a fighter when the need arises.  He is sexy.  Good lord that man is built nicely.  Oh and he is almost indestructible.  His skin is like steel.  Him and Jess, clearly have feelings for one another but she pushes him away.  And he gets pissed when he finds out her secret...I mean she did kill his WIFE.  Well it was Kilgrave but damn son.  They still have a bit of fun before all this comes out and *whew* is it hot in here? No just me, okay.  When Kilgrave gets to him I freaked out!  How much of what was said wasn't Luke?!?!?  Wait they...they did the thing...and it was hot...was that...no....OMG!

Trish is the BFF.  She is like a sis (legally she is a sis) to Jess.  She is famous and seems to really care but Jess pushes her away to protect her.  You want to slap Jess repeatedly for this.  Trish is clearly damaged because of her mother which makes her cautious but she wants to help.  She falls for Simpson (see below).  They have some hot fun too but I never fully trusted him.  Something was ALWAYS off.

Simpson is a nutter.  He is a decent cop who is sent to kill Trish, under the influence of Kilgrave.  He seems to lose his mind after this.  He becomes OBSESSED with killing Kilgrave.  So obsessed that he f**ks it all up.  He murders another detective, destroys all of the evidence against Kilgrave.  He hurts Trish repeatedly and he is trying to kill Jess because he blames her.  Oh and he's taking these enhancement pills that make him into a soulless killing machine.  I mean nice guy, right?

Hogarth is your stereotypical slimy lawyer.   She is ruthless in the courtroom but also in real life.  She plays at being Jessica's ally but she has ulterior motives.  She is a cheater and a manipulator.  She is only out for herself which causes her to do extremely stupid things...like trust KILGRAVE!

Of course there are other characters but these are the main ones.  The ones you either love or hate. Or want to punch repeatedly.

So in conclusion watch the flipping show!  They did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life.  And while that may sound like a good thing (it is mostly)...some of it is down right disturbing.  There are not many shows...actors...villains...that can make me shudder well after the episode...season ends.  Seriously, thinking about that final scene with Kilgrave making out with Trish still gives me the heebie  jeebies and its been a few days.  But I've grown to like Jess, Luke, Malcolm & Trish.  I want more.  I need a second season.  Can't wait to see where they go with this.

Side Note - I will never be able to read the name Jessica again without hearing it the way Mr. Creepy says it....*shudder*
