Its supposed to be a comedy dammit!

Okay I have not been super faithful to Young Sheldon but I have enjoyed like 85% of the series.  I watched last weeks episode live....

I KNEW George died at some point because in Big Bang Theory he is already dead.  And I knew it had to be coming soon because, well its ending THIS WEEK.

I just didn't think it would f**k me up so bad when it happened.

I mean Jesus!  They are getting ready to go take a family photo before Sheldon leaves for Cali.  They are cutting up and being the goof @$$ family that they are when there is a knock at the door.

George had a massive heart attack, he's gone.  That's it.  He went to work and he's gone.  No drawn out goodbye, just no longer here.

I think it hit me so hard because THAT is real.  Life is like that.  It's not a sitcom. It's not like a TV show.  You leave for work one day and just don't come home.  The only thing "sitcomy" was they happen to be all together going take a family photo but that could be real too.

Everyone's faces and sobs.  Sheldon in shock in the corner.  I legit went from cracking up to silently crying into my wine.

Now I'm kinda dreading the f**king finale.  I don't want to cry!!!! I see elder Sheldon is making an appearance.  I feel like he's going to close it out which is fitting.  I mean he created this.  He made the anomaly that is Sheldon Cooper and opened the door for this spin off and the one about Georgie and his family. I just don't want to be sad at the end of a finale for a comedy but I will be sad its ending.  It's a funny show!

Pretty sure that was Shrek fan fiction

Okay I say that in Jest because this book totally hooked me.  I really did enjoy it but there were times where I was like this is odd.

*****SPOILERS****

Lark is an outcast.  She is an outcast because she has this ability to turn on your fear.  Basically she infuses you with fear until you piss your pants and run.

People are scared of her so she moves on from town to town once she's been outed.  Unfortunately she was used and abused by her evil father.  And people are awful to her.  Its an awful world.  It barely rains and the earth seems to be dying.

She runs to the last refuge.  A Troll City where humans may or may not be welcome.  Before they can kill her she shows the council her "curse" and they allow her to stay as a 2nd hand citizen (they hate humans) as long as she behaves and earns her keep.

She's paired up to work with Unach a large, pretty (?) Trollis who is a badass and really wants nothing to do with Lark.  But they council orders her to "keep" her until she gets quarters.  She hunts monsters with Unach who is all around annoyed she has to deal with her.

Unach's brother Azmar lives with her but seems different.  He's not as harsh as the other Trollis.  He is almost kind and seems very smart.

Other humans live in Cagemar but are more live slaves but not... they have their own area but are not respected.  She gets in good with a few but a jealous asshole has her ebeaten to within an inch of her life before a half human half troll found her and helped.

Azmar seems to take this the hardest (what is happening) but Trolls hate humans...right?

Anyways alot happens...they build a friendship.  She gets beaten again by another very EVIL Trollis and Azmar seems to distance himself. But Unach "claims" her which means...no one can touch her.  I dunno its weird.

She saves the city...twice.  And then there is a moment where there seems to be chemistry bw Azmar and Lark... WHAT?!?!?!  lithe blonde human and a... I am picturing "smart hulk" from the avengers.  He's like 3 times her size ... but he rejects her...she's embarrassed and ends up in her own apartment.

They eventually hook up.  Its a HUGE no no.  Like HUGE!  They keep it a secret but obvi that's not possible.  He basically proposes and gives her his "rock".  She tries to escape to meet up with another band of peeps, gets caught...with a knife.  Its a mess.  Trollis is going to be attacked and no one believes her.

She goes undercover at her fathers camp.  He plans on whiping out cagemar.  She gets the info to prove her loyalty to Cagemar and goes back but they end up going to wa anyway with Azmar on the front lines as his punishment for loving a human.  He's going to die she uses fear to scare him back to safety and is recaptured by the trollis.

Everyone is hating him, he almost died. Unach hates lark now bc she found the rock thingy.  He hate lark bc he's scared of her so she is going to leave.

But he shows up, professes his love, and said he never belonged in Cagemar.  They runaway to the mountain and it rains.

**scene**

It was a weird book...like I've never read a Troll book. But like I really got invested in this damn book.  Like really invested.  Like couldn't wait to make sure Lark & Azmar had their happily ever after.  WTAF.

Yo WTF Man?!?

The writers of shows today know just how to f**king GUT you!

I am f**king UGLY sobbing on my couch.  Like UUUUUGGGGLLLLYYYYY!

I can count on one hand how many times a show made me UGLY cry.

Lucifer Season 5 Ep:15.

I'll just post my reactions to what happened.

They f**king killed Dan!!!!

I was tearing up when the Dr came out shaking her head "I'm so sorry".

No no no no noooooooooo!

Then Trixie came in.  That little girl GUTTED ME!  "I want my daddy"  After that the water works started. I had to literally pause the show because I was hiccup crying.  It was a sad sad moment for me haha.

Then I was good.  Then the funeral happened and Amenadiel was crying and Lucifer was crying.  Dammit!!!

Thursday, July 1, 2021

Yo who's cutting onions up in here?!?

Okay I love love love Lucifer.  Which makes me sound like a psycho unless you know of and watch the show.  I mean it's a wildly popular show so if you've never heard of it...get out more.

Anyways, the show rarely makes me cry.  It makes me happy, sad, annoyed but never really cry.  Yea well the last episode I watch made me straight up Sob.  I'm blaming it on hormones, haha.

Nothing Lasts Forever.  While Lucifer is still vying for his dad's job Chloe is trying to work.  And of course trying to figure out what to do if he becomes God, coming to terms that she loves him and will support him.  God I love her!

Anyways it was funny and insightful and just a good time as usual until the end.  Lucifer FINALLY listens to what someone else wants and does something amazing for dear old dad.  He gets Mom to come back for a visit.  The second she walks in I teared up.  Mom!!!!  The acting was so good...I could feel the emotion of the moment.  They talk and decide they should be together but they are going live in her Universe.

Wait wait wait...God is LEAVING?!?!  Mom tells Amenadiel what an amazing father he is and she is so proud of him.  Okay tearing up a little more.

Then Lucifer tells dad he can't leave.  He's not losing his mind so he can stay and be God.  But then God tells Luci, he needs to tell him something.  He loves him and he's always been proud of him.  Lucifer is crying, God is crying, Amenadiel is crying...Mom is crying.  And I am a blob of emotion on my couch.

God just told his rebellious son who was cast from the heavens that he loves him...and is proud.  Why am I sobbing?!?!?!

Look I know I am biased because I adore Tom Ellis but he was so good in that scene.  He is so good in EVERY scene but that scene.  THAT SCENE, it was soooooo touching! And Dennis Haysbert, I mean he is amazing in everything he does.  Including playing the most adorable snarky God only second to Morgan Freeman. Notice I didn't mention Chuck, because he pissed me off towards the end of Supernatural haha.

Moving on...Then they leave.  God LEAVES Lucifer and Amenadiel saying they will figure it out.

I need to watch the last two pieces of this season but I couldn't bring myself to do it after sobbing...plus its after 10PM and I have work in the AM hahaha.

Ahhhhhh sobbing again!

I think I was murdered by a show

I watched the final episode of SPN after my last post.  It's not that I didn't have anything to say.  I just couldn't form complete sentences.

I SOBBED!

I think I literally cried for an hour.

SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES FINALE

THEY KILLED DEAN

DEAN F**KING DIED

In like the 1st 5 min. He is hanging on that freaking nail thing crying and Sam is crying and I am crying.  And he asked for permission to go.  He asked Sam to tell him it was okay to die and I legit just sobbed.

Sammy held him as he died and I just can't y'all.  I can't.  I am crying again and it's been f**king two weeks!

Sam lived his life.  HIS NORMAL LIFE that was taken from him in Episode 1.

He has a Kid named DEAN!

Dean is in Heaven...well new heaven now that Jack and CASTIEL (yay!!!) revamp it.

Dean has baby with him in heaven and goes for a drive.  A drive that lasts the REST OF SAM'S LIFE!

Sam has a family...he grows old.  He's still wearing Dean's watch.  His son is with him on his deathbed AND TELLS HIM ITS OKAY TO GO and now I am sobbing again.  Just f**king kill me man.

So Sammy goes to heaven and Dean is chilling on a bridge and doesn't even turn around...he just says "Hey Sammy" and I am AGAIN just bawling!

And just like that 15 seasons are over.  15 years of a show I have loved for ALL 15 years is done.  Through the cheesy, sad, silly, serious...through it all, I have stuck by it and now it is done.

Honestly, I don't think they could have ended it any other way.  It's a PERFECT ending for the Winchesters.  Dean was always going to die a meaningless death, in a meaningless place, with a meaningless baddie.  But this time he is with Sam and he is ready.  He is ready to be done with this crazy family business.  He is ready for peace. Sam gets his happily ever after.  Granted almost everyone he has ever cared about is dead.  But he manages to live the happy life.  Live the life he was meant to have.  Live the life Dean wanted him to have.

And in the end the boys are back together in eternity with Baby.  As it should be.

Then Jensen and Jared are on the bridge, no longer in character.  And they and the WHOLE cast thank the fans.  Because without the fans this crazy show wouldn't have been what it was and there I am just crying because even though I knew this because I follow them on social media, I really really knew they loved the show and the fandom just as much as we did.

I have loved many a shows and I still love many a shows but something about this one really gets me.  I just have this weird connection to it.  Possibly because it was silly and serious.  But it never took itself too seriously.  It made fun of itself but it was always always about family! Not necessarily the one you are born into but the one you choose.

He said he loved him!!!!!!!

I know I am a little behind but I just watched one of my favorite characters die and it f**king hurt!

Life has been dumb so I am about 3 episodes behind on the final Supernatural episodes.  And holy moly what...why?!?!  I knew someone I LOVED was going to die but Cas.  Why Cas?!?!  And the way it happened.  He told Dean just how amazing he is.  That he isn't the mindless hunter no one he thinks he is.  That he became a better person/angel because of Dean.  That he learned to LOVE because of Dean.

He told Dean HE LOVED HIM.  And then in that moment of pure happiness the Empty takes him and Billy (Death) leaving Dean alone and confused in the bunker.

I knew Castiel was saying goodbye.  I knew there was not going to be a happy ending here.  I did not think I would literally just sob with tears pouring down my face.

I've been watching this show from day one.  There have been many times I was sad or cried a bit.  It was usually once I saw Dean &/or Sam just broken and sad.  But this one hurt.  Dean wasn't sobbing.  He was sad but more conflicted.  What was happening?!?!  His BEST FRIEND was sacrificing himself to save him...again.  Except this time he wasn't coming back.

Misha nailed it.  My heart soared and broke at the same time.  Then he touched Dean's shoulder and left the bloody handprint and that's it lost it again.

I f**king love this show but GAH I need to stop crying dammit!

Journey to Territory U, L.J. Epps

Its like a soft 3 stars...

I really want to like Book 3 of The Extinction of All Children series, and it does wrap up many of the questions readers have about what is happening. The pace and dialogue strays, but the basic story line is okay. I just couldn't get as into it but I wanted to know what on Earth was going on. Many of the questions about Emma and Esther come to a head in this book but the reveal falls flat. Emma made some smart decisions and some dumb ones but she is young...it's expected. I thought overall, she was a character I could rally behind.

Some of the twists were expected or so dragged out that when they finally do come out its not shocking. Emma continues to be challenged again and again. Will she be able to unite the territories? Read book three to find out.

I received a free copy in exchange for a fair review.

Oh, we can be heroes just for one day.....I need a tissue and a hug!

Okay I know I am late to the OMG Stranger Things is like the best show ever but I have no time people!

Anyways once Season 3 dropped, I decided Eff it, who needs sleep.  So I binged as much as I could between work, life, general BS...and finally finished it.

In the last few weeks I have become irrationally attached to these freaking characters!!!  Mike and El make me all weepy with puppy love.  Hopper and Joyce kill me with sexual tension!!!  Steve is f**king awesome! I just...I love them all...its such a great show!

It's the perfect blend of supernatural horror and plot. Not to mention the nostalgia!  I was a kid in the 80's...not a teen but I was aware of enough and remember all of it.  I was like Lucas' little sister Erica...maybe a little younger.

Turn around
Look at what you see
In her face

The mirror of your dreams

It makes more sense once you watch it!

SPOILERS...DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE END OF SEASON 3!!!!!

So I knew something BIG would happen.  I was sad when Dr. Alexi died.  I liked him.  He just wanted a better life.  But I KNEW a big character was going away.  So as the last episode ramped up so did my anxiety.  Then....THEN Joyce agreed to a date with Hopper and I knew he was going to effing DIE!

I didn't want it to happen but as she gazed at him in the reactor area about to turn the keys I started tearing up.  Then Billy f**king sacrifices himself for El and WTF...I hated him but he was just a damaged kid...he doesn't deserve this!  When he says "I'm sorry" to Max before dying tears started to fall.  Then Joyce sees Will and is sobbing so now I am started to really lose my battle with my tears.  But when....when she sees Eleven and El realizes Hopper is gone its gone.... I am full on crying!!!!!!!!

I managed to compose myself.  I'm watching them pack up Will, Joyce, and Jonathan and it's sad...they are leaving Hawkins.  Its sadder when we realize El is leaving with them!  I mean it makes sense but NOOOOOO!  Anyways the tears return during that whole scene.  Nancy is parting with Jonathan....Will is parting with his BEST FRIENDS....Joyce is parting with everything she's ever known...and El is leaving Mike and the gang but Mike...and SHE LOVES HIM TOO!

But what killed me.  Like honestly ripped my f**king heart out...the letter. El is reading Hopper's "speech" he was going to have with El and Mike about boundaries and the flood gates opened.  F**k I am starting to tear up again just typing this!

I lost it.  He called himself her dad.  He made sure she knew she SAVED him from his demons.  He said he loved her in so many ways.  And OMG...

So yea this show gutted me...THANKS A LOT GUYS.  Whatever, there is clearly a Season 4. Russia has a F**KING Demogorgon and when they went to get a prisoner to feed to it, they said "no not the American".  So the only thing keeping me from sobbing further is that in my head that is Hopper.  He got sucked into the Upside Down and spit out in Russia.  Right...RIGHT!?!?!?!

I'm going to bed.  I am emotionally drained 😓

PS Showing them saying goodbye with "Heroes" playing in the background was so mean!!!!!!

Journey to Territory M (Extinction of All Children #2) by L.J. Epps

Its more like 3.5 stars but I still enjoyed it enough to push to 4. The story is still following Emma and her rag tag group trying to force equality throughout the territories. This installment was more real. Emma is still infuriatingly stubborn but she seems to be starting to think about things before acting.

There is more mystery, more death, more action in this book. If you liked book one you will like book two plus some. It's entertaining, it's exciting, it makes you want to keep reading. The relationships between the characters are developing well. I still don't like the "love triangle" LJ is implying but I get it. It creates drama and jealousy.

I liked it enough to keep trucking on to book three. I need to know what is going on. Why is craigluy separated from the rest of the nation? Why is it three territories? What happened??? Why is the president such a jerk?!?! Who thinks "yes lets kill babies"?!?!

Thats my take. I think if you've made it this far you HAVE to read book three. Plus it is entertaining.

I got this book for free from Netgalley to read and give my honest review.

Extinction of All Children - L.J. Epps

I'm undecided how much I like this book but it did catch my attention.  It is very reminiscent of another book with fight to the death game with kids, except that isn't the concept here.  Here it is another tyrannical leader making decisions for the populous that aren't very fair.  Our lead, Emma, is the last child of her territory who just turned 18, there are 3 territories and she lives in the poorest.  Don't worry, I'm not spoiling anything.  She is a strong willed, take nothing from anyone type of chick.  She knows inherently that the situation in her territory is wrong even though they try to brainwash them into thinking its for the best.

Its a quick read and it is interesting.  We follow Emma and her fight against the President.  She meets some new people along the way, many of whom seem to immediately fall for her.  Its the beginnings of teen love triangles, a rebellion, and bringing a family back together.  I think if I was a teen or early 20's I may have been more into it.  I liked it but Emma is so bull headed and young, its frustrating.  She is learning though so I do want to continue the series.  Its 3.5 stars form me but only because I am still deciding if I like Emma enough to deal with her immaturity and the boys just falling at her feet.  It's not really believable for me...yet.

I will move on to book two because I kind of want to see where the story goes.

I got this book for free from Net Galley to read and give my honest review. (spoiler in the jump)

The Invited by Jennifer McMahon

This is an entertaining story about a couple who gives up their "boring City life" to build a home in a small town.  Except things aren't all what they seem.  They are a normal loving married couple.  Its relatable but sometimes a little much.  I've not built a house from scratch but I've gutted and rebuilt from that.  And while we did it, it was hard!  I cannot imagine two DIYers building a house from bottom up.  No matter how much the wifey knows from her dad.

Moving on, it was an interesting story.  You have this cute couple, a rogue high schooler, small town gossip, a mystery, oh and a ghost.  I'm not spoiling anything don't worry.  The dynamic between all of the characters was built upon as the story went on.  I like that.  It's not thrown in your face from the start.  You grow and learn with them.  While it was slow at times, and annoying others the story was good.  It got really good as all the pieces started to fit together.  I'm glad I read it and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery with some history, and  a touch of supernatural.

The Devil Aspect - Craig Russell

I can't begin to explain how disturbing this story is.  Its fascinating but really delves into the dark recesses of the mind.  We are following Victor Kosarek a Doctor of Psychology in Czechoslovakia before WWII.  He is a brilliant psychologist who is in search of the "Devil Aspect" in his patients.  He had some trying times that led him to yearn to discover what causes such horrible Psychosis.

He is new at an asylum where the Devil's Six are being held.  They are the worst of the worst.  They have done unspeakable things and cannot be put with common criminals or be released back into society.  Victor is there to pull prove his theory with these exceptionally mad persons.

It's a story of mystery, murder, supernatural, and a splash of love. It keeps you guessing for the most part but I saw some of it coming from a mile away.  It flips between the asylum and Prague where a detective is trying to find the "Leather Apron".  A mad man who is carrying out horrible crimes against women.  It really was an interesting book but there was a point...a point where we meet Mr. Hobbs where I thought, I am so not sleeping tonight.  It's disturbing but keeps you wanting more.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good mystery suspense all the while hinting at a supernatural element.  Check it out, but I don't recommend reading before bed.

A Hideous Beauty: Kingdom Wars I - Jack Cavanaugh

I give it three stars but only because its ending was redeeming.

I have mixed feelings on this one.  On the one hand I like the premise.  Its Supernatural meets West Wing.  Actually there was literally an entire season of Supernatural dealing with a not so good President and meddling angels but I digress.

We are following the mishaps of Grant Austin.  Pulitzer Prize winning author for his book on the President currently in office.  What he doesn't know is he is just a pawn.  Forces are in control and he played right into their hands.  He apparently is an attractive man with a weird sense of humor.  He sounds like someone I would like but he is written in a way that I almost couldn't stand him.  Women weren't represented well at first either.  I mean the first thing I do when I meet a new female friend is not have a girl power pow wow about our mutual ex and talk about clothes but whatever.  Nor do I fly off the handle easily, actually I don't know many women that actually do.  But maybe me and my friends are different and other females would get unexplainably jealous and irrational because of a complete misunderstanding.

Moving on, once we know Grant's purpose in this wondrous world it got better.  Too bad that was 3/4 of the way into the book.  But once we see the whole crazy situation laid out it got way more interesting.  I really don't like how Grant handles everything but I was rooting for him in the end.  I felt for him.  How could someone as insignificant as him be so important in the grande scheme of things.  How can a normal guy be so important to the war between good an evil.  How can one man change the world?  Grant is going to find out.

I liked the book eventually but getting to the better side of Grant took forever.  I know he is written to be a sarcastic butt but its a bit much.  I will probably read book two because of the ending.  So if you like a twisty Good vs Evil book, give it a try.  Just be forewarned the main character can be a beating at times.

Beyond Meridian - CC Bridges

More like 3.5 stars, not quite 4 because its too short.  I don't even know where to start.  I know I read the description before downloading it but I somehow missed that is was a "romance" M/M.  No issues just caught me off guard at first.  So we are following Raine and Karl.  Raine is a Spacer...he moves cargo.  And Karl needs help getting into "enemy" territory.

Its Firefly with a two man crew and a really fancy ship.  Its a quick read but its honestly really good.   You want to hate Raine, he's a bastard but he isn't, he has a heart so to say.  Karl seems green but there is something lurking beneath the surface.  He is on a mission to save his friend and needs Raine.  The problem is Raine is a man ho (at least it seems) and Karl is "innocent".

Together with the amazing ship they are going to save the galaxy, and each other.

It's written to move quickly but its captivating.  It really does grab your interest.  My only issue is it moves so fast.  I like to see more development in characters and in story.  I like to see the build in the relationship.  But even with that lacking I like Raine and Karl.  It's good.  They are good.  It's...just read it.  Like I said Firefly...plus.

Relic - Alan Dean Foster

This is a beautifully written story about the end of our species.  We have wiped ourselves out.  The great human race reduced to one lonely survivor.  In our rush to inhabit the stars we somehow destroyed it all.  Everything we have worked on for millennia gone in the blink of an eye.  For all of our genius our future selves create a virus that literally cleanses the universe of our presence.

Don't worry I didn't spoil anything and I won't until you get to the jump.  Throughout this book we follow the musing of Ruslan, the last surviving human.  He was rescued by an alien race from one of our colonies among the stars.  He's become something of a celebrity being the only living specimen of a once great species.  He's fairly old and a bit lonely even among his rescuers.  He yearns to hear another human but the virus made sure that never happens again.  This story hit on every emotion.  Its happy, sad, exciting, scary, you name it I felt it.  But the best part.  The absolute most amazing thing about this story is it gives you hope.  Hope that we learn from our mistakes...and don't kill ourselves off.  I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new unique story about our future among the stars.

Now I want to go "Camping"

Okay, I always say you have to give a show at least 2 episodes if not 3 to make sure if you like it or not...usually....some are amazing off the bat and some suck but I try to give them all a chance.

HBO's new show camping is annoyingly funny.  I am sitting here watching on my computer because the hubs is watching...something.  Anyways, I was silently snorting to myself so much he was like "are you okay...? *raised eyebrow*"  Turned the screen to show him what I was watching just as a very naked Julia Louis-Dreyfus turned around in all her naked glory.

He was like "She has a landing strip" as I laughed because only I could hear what was happening.

The show is fun.  I think (I hope) as it goes on it will compound on the silliness.  We all know these people.  These are city folks on a weekend camping trip.  But its not a bunch of 20 somethings going skinny dipping and shotgunning beers... its all older married (or divorced) couples with kids trying to have fun.

You have your dorky husband/dad, controlling wife/mom, the sister with the reformed (?) deadbeat (?) husband and their angsty teen, the brother and his wife who CLEARLY have issues with controlling lady, and the recently separated friend with his new hippy girlfriend.

I want to love it because I love Jennifer Garner and David Tennant.  Seriously, the 1st episode was a hoot.   I giggled quite a bit.  Hopefully it just gets funnier...and we talk more about her pelvic floor while the others are just annoyed and drink and totally go off schedule because AHAHAHAHA I have a friend like that...I love her but chill chickadee!

Anyways, funny show...reminds me of camping with my boujee friends.  There are ALWAYS stories to tell after.

Oh and there's a bear.

Crimson Peak......I'm watching alone so I have to type my thoughts.....

I'm finally watching this .....

SPOILERS FOR CRIMSON PEAK if you haven't seen it.

First few minutes..."Beware the Crimson Peak". Okay...Hi to you to dead Mom.

Oh look its Bobby...is he gonna say "Balls"???

And then there is Thomas.  How does someone who by all accounts seems like a genuinely kind and amazing person play such a f**king creep?!?!?!  He walked in the room and I was like "danger danger...DANGER!"

He even speaks creepy!  I love his voice, its very...nice....to listen to.  But in this movie his voice makes my f**king skin crawl!
What is up with the sister?!?!!?

What's in the Envelope??  What does dad want to tell Edith!!??!

OMG HE KILLED HER F**KING DAD!!!!

Ummm...."I know sir, you've been married a while".  What?!?!?!

Why is the floor "bleeding?!?!"  Why is there a hole in the ceiling?!?!

Edith...honey...go home....

Please don't kill the dog!!!

Ummmm do siblings hug like that...like I don't embrace my brothers like that....

Okay the sister is really creepy.

So he's already tried to kill the dog....great....

The ghost is missing its ring finger....

The house "breathes" what on Earth?!??!

"I'll have a bath".  Can we watch him bathe too? ahahahah

Confined to the nursery in the attic...?  Wow.....

She's so different...

Okay he kisses like....that... that was .... He's kinda hot...stop being creepy!

Does he not sleep!?!?!

WTF just crawled out of the floor?!?!!?

So the ghosts are trying to warn her....?

Sir Thomas is already married...?!?!?!

Finally!  Consummate that marriage muahahaha

Sister is jealous of him sleeping with his wife...I...WHAT'S WITH THE CREEPY SISTER?!?!!

JFC read the letter from Italy already!

Wait is he falling in love with Edith?  He wants to show her his invention....

Uh oh...sister is on to her!

So he's like the reverse black widow....?

They kill them with the tea..? Aw man I love tea

I made her better...I'll do the same with you...I'll make you better.  Sister is a f**king wacko!

He told her not to drink the tea....

He doesn't want to kill her....

Was that a baby crying....?

Ahhhhhhh what is happening?!??!!?

He's f**king his sister!!!! Oh Thomas what are you doing?!?!?! My eyes, MY EYES!!!!

Now I know where he sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That bitch stabbed the Doctor friend person!!!!

That bitch killed the dog!!!!!

"Your a Doctor, show me where."  He's not a bad guy...he's NOT!!! Right...?

The sister killed her Edith's dad.

She basically raped and coerced her BABY BROTHER into a love affair and killed their mom over it....OMG!

The baby was the sister's.  It was her niece/nephew and her child and I am not okay with this

Oh damn Edith stabbed her with a pen.

Oh he does love her, I knew he was good!

Oh $hit! She stabbed him because he loves Edith.

JFC in the face!!!  She stabbed him in the face!

She killed him!!!! She killed her brother lover...

"Ghosts are real this much I know".  No $hit "Alice", Thomas' ghost just saved your life!

What did I just watch.

In summary, brother sister lovers convince lonely women to marry the brother lover and give him their fortune.  Sister lover poisons the wives and continues enjoying that good brother D. And what the f**k did I just type?!?!?  Except brother lover falls in love with his wife this time and sister lover kills him for it.  Oh and there are ghosts.  Have I covered everything?!?!  I need a drink.

All in all 3.5 out of 5.  It was weird but good weird...a little cheesy and you get to see Loki and Alice in love..what a world what a world.

NOLAGurl out...I need more wine.

Lifel1k3 - Jay Kristoff

Wow. This is a fascinating coming of age story. I mean who doesn't want to read about a rebellious teen in a future where we almost destroyed all of life on earth. That isn't sarcasm, I'm serious. We are following the life of Eve. She lives what used to be California but it broke off and is an island now. She poor and scrappy. She has a cybernetic eye and a memory chip in her head. She has her gramps, BFF named Lemon, robot sidekick named Cricket , and a robo dog with a real dog brain.

Its not all what you think. There are non humans out there. They look like us but they aren't human. They are called Lifelikes and they rebelled against their maker. Don't worry, I didn't spoil anything you don't read in the first few pages. Imagine that! You get this much insanity and its only the beginning. This story is full of adventure, heartbreak, friendship, and betrayal; all with a sci-fi base. Its a captivating read that has more surprises than I thought possible. The author did a wonderful job of creating characters you love. Even with their flaws you love them. That is why all the twists and turns are such punches in the gut You are learning along with Eve which makes this story even more intriguing. All leading up to the final showdown that completely blew my mind, and its only book one. I would definitely recommend it.

Obscura - Joe Hart

This is a wonderfully written yet disturbing story. In the not so distant future we have reached a tipping point. Our beautiful blue marble is dying. Humanity has no choice but to look for a new home. In addition to this we are plagued by a new disease. It targets young and old, related and unrelated. There is no cure...there is no predicting it but once you have it you are done. Its a slow, tortuous death. Not just for you but for your loved ones who have to watch you slowly forget them...yourself...everything.

We are following Gillian a Doctor, mother, and now Astronaut who is on the verge of curing this awful disease. She has her own issues and reasons for wanting a cure but when NASA calls upon her she goes...a tad unwillingly but she goes. This book is a total mystery. From the opening pages to the last line. Its a roller coaster of emotion and distrust. There is the dying Earth, the incurable disease, a new technology that could change the future of humanity, and death...lots of death. Its a whodunit wrapped up in a what would you do. And it has space travel so win win win, right?!

I absolutely loved this book. I was confused, concerned, disturbed, terrified, and happy. The whole gambit of emotions. Just when I thought I knew what to expect something else slapped me in the face. I didn't know who to trust. Half the time I didn't even trust Gillian and it was from her POV. I wanted to love so many of the characters but I just didn't know. The only one I fully trusted was Birk, he was an open book. In a heartbeat I would recommend this book. Anyone who loves a good murder mystery and/or sci-fi should read it. It is by far one of the better near future space travel books I've read, and I've read quite a few. Check it out, you wont be sorry.
