I know "ratings" count. Well ratings count because of advertisers, right? But based off of what I've seen online ratings don't tell the whole story.
Ratings CLEARLY lie. They only take into account live viewings and even then I think its skewed.
IMO somethings gotta give. They need to start looking at other ways people watch TV because its clear not everyone views things live. We have options...LOTS OF OPTIONS. I can tell you with 100% certainty I watch a lot of shows the next day or so after they air...on the network's app. If I'm home I watch live but that's not always the case.
So why why why why why did FOX cancel Lucifer?!?!?!? I know there is a giant fan following for this show. "But the ratings weren't there."
F**k off! The ratings weren't there my @$$! Open twitter and you can see the f**king insane following for that show. Open Tumblr (with caution) and you see even more. So how are the "ratings not there"?!?!?
My only conclusion is they literally only consider Live Broadcasts and you are right, not everyone watches live. And by Live I mean the time the show airs.
The excuse is "because we need the pull for the advertisers". Okay...hear me out....PUT THE ADVERTS ON THE STREAMING APPS! Yea yea yea, its not the same. And you people wonder why cable is dying out?!?!? People pay to DVR, but you punish them by canceling their favorite shows because they DVR'd and didn't watch live.
Its a f**king double edged sword.
I said I hated FOX in 2002 when they canceled Firefly. That was stupid. That show was f**king gold and I will never be over it! I hated them again when they canceled Futurama in 2003. I wanted to spit nails when they axed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in 2009.
They realized their mistake kind of with Firefly and did a movie to "appease" the fans. Yes, we appreciated it but would have LOVED MORE DAMMIT. Same with Futurama...Comedy Central brought it back and it was wildly successful until it was axed again *rolling eyes*.
They never brought back Terminator...boooo stupid FOX.
Anyways they have now axed LUCIFER and The Exorcist and Brooklyn nine nine!!! The Exorcist...okay fine...I guess. I really liked it but whatever. Brooklyn was picked up by NBC so ok ok...But LUCIFER!?!?!? I don't get it!
In the edited words of Shepherd "...you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater....and FOX for cancelling amazing shows!!!"

Well they say you should always go out with a bang.....
**UPDATE** How do I keep forgetting to post these?!!??!
So I watched the season finale of Bones. Now we all know next season...Season 12 will be its last. Since we know this the writers have the freedom to really blow our minds, YAY! Anyways, just to note I'm not online all the time but I usually know what is going on with my fav shows. I usually know if they've been canceled (WTF NBC/ABC) or if a long time fan fav is making a return (I know it was a few years ago but the 50th for DW is a decent example). But I also love when they keep things SUPER quiet. People say the GoT peeps kept the fate of Jon quiet but we all knew he wasn't dead for good so :P.
Moving on watching "The Nightmare in the Nightmare" slapped me silly! It was a very nostalgic episode. It was one of those episodes that made me remember WHY I've been watching this show since 2005. It was creepy. It was disturbing. It was confusing. It was AWESOME!
Anyways, I was feeling a bit bad for Bones...nightmares are nothing to play with. Her subconscious was trying to tell her something. Something was familiar about this Puppeteer. Something was hovering just out of her reach and her dreams were trying to tell her. But everyone blew it off. Its just dreams after all. So the entire episode I was freaking out because "OMG the writers are gonna kill another of my favs and I can't handle that!" (see Sweets...still not over it).
So we have this Puppeteer weirdo who is BEYOND disturbing. He keeps his victims WITH him almost in a mummified state to...what...have dinner with *shudder*. What made this killer so much better or worse depending on your perspective is that it wasn't thrown in our faces ALL season. They touched on it and then moved on. I love that! So Brennan's dreams are getting more and more bizarre. The one that got me was Wendell. He's not a bad guy. Why is she seeing him as a bad guy? What's with the hands? Why is that familiar?!?!?
Anyways, things are ramping up...they have to catch him! But who could it be!?!?! Who could be this meticulous? Who could be this precise? Who could be this DISTURBED? I think I know but SURELY I would have heard something about this...right?!?! And now he/she is targeting Brennan!!! Booth do SOMETHING. So we are getting close. They've figured it out. Booth and Aubry are closing in...but its all a ruse. This idiot was set up! The real Puppeteer set a trap. And he/she takes Bones. Bones recognizes them. Now way...it can't be. Who the f**k is it?!?!
Then me literally yelling "No...no...NO! OMG its Zack! Is it Zack?!?!? They are bringing back Zack! It has to be f**king Zack!" And then Boothe busts in the mental hospital and Zack.is.gone. Flip to Brennan waking up. "Hello Dr. Brennan we have a lot to discuss." Or something along those lines. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its Zack!!!! OMG OMG OMG!
Season 12 is gonna be AMAZING! I hope....

Oh, you meant THAT Doyle, this just got 100 times more interesting
Right so I need something to fill the void left by Lucifer having its season finale *le sigh*. So OF COURSE I just started watching the show that filled it's time slot. All I knew was that it was Houdini & Doyle and that they were something like a crime solving duo. I did not realize the plot. I didn't read up about it. I just saw Houdini and said "COOOOOOOL!"
So the the show starts with a Houdini illusion, sweet. Then jumps to a man entering a party. I was eating and not paying full attention but I heard "I love Sherlock, I can't wait to read more" or something of that nature and the man replies "Sherlock is dead! Remember the falls." And I'm all "wait, what show am I watching...?" Then it clicks. "Oh, THAT Doyle. As in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!?!"
So this new show I am watching is about the greatest illusionist of all time and the author of one of my favorite fictional characters teaming up to investigate unusual crimes that may or may not pertain to the supernatural?!!?! And the one who is unbelieving is the f**king Illusionist!!! Hold up a second, I may actually enjoy this. Houdini is a Grade A prick, Mr. Doyle is more likeable but also a bit of a pain in the butt, but Adelaide Stratton is WONDERFUL! She is a woman working as a police officer in a time when that is 100% unheard of. I love her already. She is smart and confident and looks like she could be a bit of a bad@$$ and is a bit pretty. I love it.
No one takes her seriously but she is determined to prove them all wrong. I was so incredibly angry at Houdini when he went off on her, called her stupid, and said she should "find a nice man who would buy her nice things" or something of that nature. I wanted to punch him and I think she did too but instead she fires back at him and earned some respect! Ha, take that @$$hole.
Doyle believes in the Supernatural. He is an intelligent man but he still believes. He trusts mediums, he believes in ghosts, he doesn't look for the logical explanation. Houdini believes in fact. He debunks everything. There is a logical explanation to all the weirdness in the world. Hmmmm, interesting. But there is something about him. He almost exists on another plane. Weird things happen around him and while he can explain most away, the piano playing at the end almost proves that something not of this dimension is at work.
I think I like this crime fighting duo. Its like Sherlock and Watson but with magic and ghosts (Doyle is Watson and Houdini is Sherlock). I can't wait to see where the writers bring us as we delve into the antics of Houdini & Doyle.

So many emotions, so many shows, I need a drink - Lucifer
So we got the Season Premier of GoT, whoohoo...but then we got the Season finale of Lucifer, booooo. (see previous post for GoT)
Last night was the Season Finale of Lucifer *tears*. I wasn't ready for it to go away. At least we know there will be a Season 2 *eeeeeeeeeeeeee*. This is by far my new favorite show. Its funny, its emotional, its a little scary/disturbing, and it has some of the best writing. Lucifer is the devil but in the show he is the fallen angel. The "child" that was abandoned by his father. He isn't evil, he just maintains the realm where evil souls go. Like I've said before, he can't make you do anything but he can get you to realize/say your darkest desires. Is he selfish, of course but he has depth. He cares for a human and her family. He has a best friend...she's a demon but a friend none the less. He has siblings, other angels (duh). And his angelic brother is not exactly the best shining example of heaven. He does bad things in the name of good. It's a bit bizarre-o-esq.
So Luci is taking the fall for a murder he didn't commit. Bad cop brought back from the dead realizes he f**ked with the wrong fallen angel and is desperate and on the run. Chloe is conflicted. She doesn't want to believe Lucifer did it but there is a dead guy in his bar whom he had a public fight with earlier. Detective Douche (also known as Dan) is actually being a decent guy now. Amenadiel decides to help his brother redeem himself and Mazikeen is just a bad@$$ b**ch (love her!).
It broke my heart a little at how hurt Lucifer was that Chloe didn't believe him. Of all people he thought she would have his back. I love that Luci and his bro are working together. When they are meeting with the shrink lady I couldn't stop LAUGHING. They are so funny. I mean they were all bickering siblings trying to get the other to admit he is wrong. When they went all kick@$$ angels on the gang I was so happy! Thankfully Chloe (and Dan) realize Luci is probably innocent and start working to clear his name. I thoroughly enjoyed Chloe and Mazikeen working together. I know they have a hate/hate relationship but they make a good team (and are also very amusing).
When Dan turned himself in to clear Lucifer's name I almost cried. Okay not really but it was very touching. Even the devil himself was taken aback. Bad cop took Trixie. You don't not hurt our precious angel Trixie! She is adorable and she is friends with Lucifer. Bad move Malcolm. I was 100% not expecting Luci to get shot. It looked like he had a good "hold" on Malcolm and then *pow* what just happened?!!? Chloe was in the room so he is mortal and DYING and what?!?! No, I know there is a Season 2. He can't be funny sexy devil if he's back in Hell!
But then...then he starts talking to God. He is praying, sort of. He is saying he will be a good boy and go back to hell if he'll do just one thing. Keep Chloe safe. What?!?!?! My heart just stopped! He really, truly cares for her on some level and I just can't form a coherent thought, excuse me. So he dies and we are freaking out a bit. He's in hell and there is a door open. Someone has escaped..but who is it?!?!? He looks scared?!?! Who could scare the freaking devil?!?!
The almighty brings him back *yay* and he stops bad cop from hurting Chloe & Trixie *double yay*. Chloe kills Malcolm before he can shoot Luci again and we watch as he dies knowing he is going STRAIGHT to hell *muahahahaha*. There is a tiny happy reunion (no hugs). She is happy he's not DEAD and he's happy and confused. Probably because he realizes what he asked for. He didn't ask to be saved himself, he asked for her to be saved, very out of character for him. Flash over to him and Amenadiel talking. He tells him someone escaped from hell. Amenadiel is like, no biggie, one damned soul shouldn't be hard to re-capture. But then he notices Lucifer is...is that fear??? He's scared...what could scare him. Who escaped?!?!? Luci said "Its Mum". And cue the credits.
What!?!?!? Mum...MUM! Who is the mother of angels?!!?!? Why is she in hell??? Why is Luci scared??? Why is Amenadiel scared?!?!? I need to go research. Is it Lilith? But I thought she was the 1st wife of Adam and the mother of evil creature...like Vampires, etc. Is it Amara (I am pulling $hit from Supernatural) but isn't she God's sister or something?!?! I need Season 2...

Well damn, Lucifer is HOT!
A sentence I'd never thought I'd say. Who else watched the Premier of Lucifer on Fox Monday night??? I watched it for two reasons. One, it came on right after The X-Files and two, its a story about Lucifer getting tired of the BS in Hell and coming to the surface to have some fun. Wait there is a third reason....Tom Ellis is definitely not bad to look at. The below will be spoiler-y, you've been warned.
With that said, I absolutely loved this show. Usually it takes me a few episodes to really fall for a new series but not this time. I was a smiling, giggling school girl by the end. They honestly couldn't have picked a better person to portray Lucifer Morningstar (I laughed every time he said his full name...God given, I'm afraid). He is witty and devilish with a touch of humanity. The devil has feelings...that is a whole new way to look at things.
We begin with him being a prick to a police officer and its wonderful. He can basically make people say what they are thinking...he is manipulative and its a little concerning. But he has friends. Like they seem like legit friends who *gasp* care about him and he *double gasp* cares for them... We see in the first few minutes how much he cares for others (I am so going to hell even typing this). He helps a struggling actress. She thinks she sold her soul but he assures her he just helped her by putting her in contact with the correct people (what in the what what). Then she is BRUTALLY murdered while with him. He recovers, ala Jack Harkness style *gasp* *suddenly alive*, and immediately wants to punish whomever killed his friend.
This puts him in the sights of a detective lady who is immune to his charms. He has zero affect on her. She has no desire to tell him anything and thinks him more of an annoyance, oooo I like her! She has a kid (interesting) with another detective who is kind of a prick. He tries to put his ex down in front of Luci and he defends his new lady friend. It is adorable (OMG I am having feelings for a TV "bad guy"...I have issues).
So together they figure out who hired the hit-man that killed the actress. The actual bad guy who isn't Lucifer pulls a gun on Luci. The lady detective is panicking. He isn't. He isn't scared of being shot. he'll just come back to life. She shoots the suspect to save Lucifer and he is floored. That man didn't suffer enough, he just DIED. He is mad (ooooo scary devil) and says he.is.immortal! Before it can go further the baddie isn't dead and SHOOTS our new lady friend "Ahhhhhhhhhh!". Um excuse you, I like her! Luci goes all vengeful devil...dude the reflection... okay THAT is horrifying! She lives yay! He saves her....wha...he cares....whoa.
That was basically the episode. Obviously much more happened but that was the sum of it. I love love loveed it! I cannot WAIT to see more. It looks like he becomes a consultant for the police department and our lady friend does not seem happy...*muahaha*.
My favorite things:
Trixie liking Lucifer, even after hearing his name
Lucifer telling Trixie "That's a hooker name."
Lucifer scaring the bully that got Trixie in trouble
Trixie seeing Lucifer at the hospital and giving him a HUGE hug and him getting all "no no no little one, I hate kids" all while uncomfortably smirking.
That stupid angel doesn't scare him one bit (seriously something is wrong with me)
He is a seducer and keeps his word (that shrink is going to have a good time)
But he is still a bit terrifying

14 years later and I still love these two!!!
I've seen a lot of negative things about the Premier of the X-Files revival and I don't get it. Yea it was a little off. Mulder was a bit of a nutter...more so than normal but it was still good. And as much as I love foosball I was feeling a bit stabby. Gimme X-Files dammit!!!! Yea yea yea good for you Panthers now get off my TV!
From this point forward it will be spoiled a bit for Episodes 1 & 2 so just a heads up.
My little geek heart exploded Sunday night! One of my favorite sci-fi shows of ALL TIME (notice I say "one of", because I have a few favs) came back for a 6 episode tease. I call it a tease because 6 episodes is not enough for me. This is the FIRST TV non-couple that I was like "OMG be together already" (ya know...I shipped them). I was 12 when it first came on TV and 21 when they took it off the air. I watched it for 9 seasons. I saw the movies. I love love love Mulder and Scully. With that said when I heard they were bringing it back I fangirled so hard my husband laughed for like 20 minutes. It was pretty epic. I imagine it would have been similar for fans of Classic Who when the show rebooted in 2005.
Anyways, I like the 1st episode. Of course it wasn't classic X-Files people. Think about it!!! They dismantled the department. It didn't exist anymore. So they had to come up with some cracked out way to bring Mulder and Scully back together. It couldn't be straight up alien BS again. They've done that and shown us the flipping aliens. It had to go in a different direction. Plus it was Episode 1 FFS!!! It was an intro. They had to get us all up to speed on what the f**k they've all been up to for FOURTEEN years (yes I know there was a movie in 2008 but its been 14 years since TV). So we had to see Mulder out of his Mulder-ness and Scully being her awesome scientific self but without Mulder. We had to see that they've gone their separate ways but they still CLEARLY love each other and you cannot convince me otherwise!
I seriously love that they are taking the alien BS to a new (way more disturbing) level. We aren't being watched by aliens...well we are but its more than that. All of these crazy things. All of the INSANE experiments and abductions and weirdo $hit. Its all because back when the Roswell thing happened our government took the technology and reverse engineered it. We also took the BODY OF THE ALIEN and used its DNA. Meaning aliens aren't abducting us for experiments...its our government. At least a branch of it. (like I needed more reasons to be paranoid) They take women who are pregnant and put alien DNA in them to see what happens. They impregnate others with human/alien embryos. They take men for...well you can guess based on the last sentence.
Aliens might be curious about us but its the powers that be that are doing all the crazy $hit! And when people try to out these higher powers they are "dealt with". I mean I wasn't fond of the YouTubber (stop hitting on Scully!) but I can only imagine what happened to him. As in they die of mysterious causes, have freak accidents, or just disappear. At the end we have our team mending the wounds a bit...speaking of their BABY that went up for adoption (ouch my heart)...and giving us the flipping smoking man. How the f**k is he still alive?!?!?!
Episode 2 was more my classic babies. Mulder is his clean shaven, suit wearing self. And god damn he is still a very attractive man. Scully hasn't aged. No really what does Mrs. Anderson do because she looks the SAME! This episode broke me more because of the "What If" flash backs. What if they kept their son. What activities would they have done together. Just rip my heart out why don't you!!! It also showed how much these two CLEARLY care for one another still. They may not be together but the affection is still there. When Mulder is in danger she is worried. When Mulder drops on the ground in pain she is there in a second to save him. When he says "You’re never just anything to me, Scully", I sniffled. Damn where'd all this dust come from *cough cough*.
What I am saying is I like it. I think it is good. I think people are being WAAAAAY too hard on it. Just enjoy it while you can....its only SIX episodes people!!! Oh did I mention Scully has Alien DNA...what the actual f**k?!?!?!

How did I miss this? How did my little geeky syfy loving heart not know this!?!?!?
I hate networks, I hate hate hate them! Netflix save us. Okay I might be being a bit dramatic but I somehow missed the cancellation notice for a few shows that I love!
1. Dominion - OMG are you kidding me!!?!? It ended on an effing cliff hanger! It ended eluding to Lucifer being the next big baddie. How bad where the ratings?!?! They couldn't have been that terrible! Could they have been? I don't think you understand Syfy, I want to know what happens! I need more Chris Egan and Tom Wisdom and ya know what I need them all back on my screen! Here's hoping Netflix does something. I mean I had high hopes for Constantine but alas that didn't f**king happen. (yes, I know this was NBC but I am still pissed). I had no idea this was canceled. I missed the announcement. I only found out because I went to vote for something else as a Netflix series reboot and saw this one....soooooo sorry Forever I love you and all but this got my vote. Ahhhhh, don't take this one too, dammit!
2. Helix - Okay, yes last season wasn't the "best" but we are left with questions at the end of Season two. I mean I am not as angry about this one as I am about #1 but I did enjoy this show and the characters. And I kind of want to know more. But I guess I can see they may be running out of stories. I mean how far can you stretch this immortal blood virus strain thing.
3. Defiance - I knew that season finale felt...well final. Not sure if the writers had an inkling or not but at least we got some sort of closure. I will still miss this show though. I haven't been this excited about a Syfy original series since Eureka. Defiance was a fantastical glance at a future where we are "invaded". Where as a species we have to learn how to adapt if we want to survive. It was different but relatable. The characters were so complex and well written. I can't tell you how many times this show not just tugged but RIPPED my heart out...yet I still wanted more. I hate that we will never find out what happens to Nolan, Irisa, the Tarr's, etc. I mean we get an idea of what might happen in their futures in the finale but I really wanted so much more. Although I will miss this show, at least it got a better send off than some others...*cough* Forever *ahem*. Yes I know that was ABC but I am still angry about it.
Fox don't let me down! Don't you dare cancel Bones or Sleepy Hollow...please... or did I miss that announcement too???

Side note - How the f**k did all these great shows get canceled yet we still get Salem. I mean I'm not complaining. I like the show but I thought for sure it was getting axed.

What is happening on TV?!?
Clearly I watch a variety of shows but a few lately have me wanting to scream!
**SPOILERS for any shows listed in the Labels**
FIRST
WTF happened on Game of Thrones last night!?!? Sometimes I wonder why I still watch it but I truly enjoy my escape to Westeros most Sundays (hello, Mother of Dragons). Then things like last night happen and I want to strangle people. I haven't made it through Book 3 yet so forgive me if I was supposed to know any of this.
I flat out yelled at my TV when they arrested Queen Margaery. Why didn't Tommen say SOMETHING?!?! Yes of course we as the audience know the Queen lied to protect her brother BUT this is all Cersei's doing, she is an evil vindictive biotch (yet for some reason I still like her, slightly). But something tells me f**king with Margaery is only going to end badly for Kings Landing. Her grandmama is going to kick someones @$$ (she is one of my fav secondary characters). I mean who wouldn't be pissed if their grandson who is part of the Kingsguard AND their granddaughter who is the Queen are both arrested.
Then there was the Sansa stuff. Can I just say...WHY?!?! Yes, we know that Ramsay Bolton is a sadistic @$$hole but why show him doing that to HER!?! It is bad enough she is being forced to marry this psychopath but showing just HOW evil he is on their wedding night, ugh! She literally took one of the team. I thought being with Joffery was bad enough, then marrying her to Tyrion (WEIRD!) but Ramsay is by far the worst! Sansa has become so strong and I really have begun to admire her bravery in all this insanity so when they got to the room, I was like oh god now what?!? Then he told "Reek" to stay and watch and I just knew it would be awful and 100% unnecessary! I almost muted the TV and looked away, I wish I had.
They didn't have to show what happened. We all knew it wasn't going to be good. But to actually SHOW him ripping her clothes and bending her over and the sounds. It was awful! Look I get it is HBO and they can basically do whatever they want BUT at least have a reason for it. It isn't like we all thought Ramsay was a good guy and this would be a way to show his bad side. We know he a nutter, elude to what is going to happen and fade to black, the rest was only put in there as a shock factor and it made me mad and a tad bit uncomfortable.
SECOND
I finally watched the Season (now SERIES) finale of Forever on ABC. It was so freaking good. I truly thought Jo was going to find Henry bleeding out on the ground in the subway. I was thinking maybe when they got the cancellation notification they would give us a proper ending. "Sorry guys, crazy man was right, the gun killed him. Bye bye now." But no, apparently they thought, just like us, that the show would at least get a Season 2. So he vanishes and Jo finds his pocket watch *insert dramatic gasp*. Anyone who watches(ed) this show is probably as frustrated at me with those two. Just kiss already!
Anyways she shows up at Henry's door with the watch and Abe is all "Just tell her!" And he says "its a long story" and the credits roll. WTF!?!?! I mean it is a perfect season ending cliff hanger but f**king ABC canceled the damn show and now I wont get to see how Jo reacts to his "news" or what Henry is gong to do with the now fully conscious yet paralyzed crazy guy. Surprise, your partner and the guy you CLEARLY love is actually an immortal, would you like some tea? Stupid networks canceling decent shows but renewing all this reality TV bull$hit *grumble grumble*.
THIRD
Go home Lost Girl you are drunk! Yes I know this is the final season but so far it has been even more strange than before...if that is even possible. Yes EVERY series has its "silly" episodes *ahem* "Love & Monsters" *ahem* or "Smile Time" *he's a bloody puppet!*. But they turned Bo into a cat. She had furry paws, a tail, she slept in a box...good lord! And while I giggled every time she had a cat mannerism I wasn't sure why we were doing this. What was the purpose of turning her into a feline, except for comic relief? Maybe I missed something. And yes I know her "good luck" from the cat leads her to the Oracles but it was still weird! And to top all the weirdness off, we don't have Kenzi! Its the last freaking season, give me back Kenzi!!!! I know Ksenia Solo is doing other things (OMG she is on Orphan Black *squeee*) but I wish she was still by Bo's side *pouting*.
FOURTH
Dammit Booth what are you doing?!?!? We finally get these two idiots together and living happily ever after (awww another baby bones/booth) and they eff it all up. They put Booth in an awful situation and he gets addicted to gambling again. A man threatens Bones and Christine and THAT is how Bones finds out about the "problem". She has Aubry (who I adore) pay off the bookie and then has a chat with Booth. He LIED to her! She gives him the chance to tell the truth and he LIED. Ahhhhhhhh! Then she asks him to leave, he freaks and says "I love you" and she says "I don't believe you. Not anymore." No no no no no no no! Why are you doing this to us?!? Stop torturing the viewers. First there was the like 7 season flirt fest ending with them having a baby, then Booth basically calls off their wedding because of Pelant (jerk!), then he gets thrown in PRISON and now this! What the hell writers?!?! You are killing us!
